After my first encounter with Rituals makeup left me feeling distinctly underwhelmed, I admit to not having high hopes for this mascara. I was pretty pleased to find that actually, this is a little gem of a mascara, perfect for building long, fat lashes.
The brush is a traditionally shaped, traditionally fibrous affair, with deep soft bristles which collect plenty of mascara from the inside of the tube. Admittedly, it's not as easy to apply as a modern plastic bristled brush, but with some careful wiggling from root to tip, the result is lush, thick lashes with reasonable definition.
Two coats. I particularly like the fact that the depth of the brush allows me to work the mascara well into the root, whilst avoiding depositing mascara on my eyelid. For the relatively small price of £12.50, this mascara is hard to beat - I reckon it's comparable to one of my favourites, Lancome Hypnose Drama, which is signficantly more expensive at around £20. Find it at Rituals stores, or online.
